When I first got mail washer pro, it was really nice on how it would let you know if the email was a virus and stuff. Well, the problem that I ran into is my email is now receiving over 300 spam emails a day. The bad part is I still have to go through each one of those emails and it takes a long time.

I was wondering if there was something that could act like mail washer and hook into Outlook Express but maybe put the spam email in some other folder or something? I would really want this to be able to hook into Outlook Express some how.

    Thanks for any help!

Hmm, I assume you are using Mailwasher as it was designed, i.e., use it to check all email before OE gets a look at it? I don't have Pro, just the basic and it keeps me down to about 6 or 8 a day or less. Have you checked the options in tools for your prefs? I'm surprised that it isn't doing a good job for you. Others will likely add comments.

gobears20 I'm assuming this is for a personal e-mail account, not a company account.

It's probably time to change e-mail addresses and learn to manage several e-mail accounts. I haven't used an ISP supplied account in over five years. The only thing I use an ISP account for is to send large attachments and communicate with the ISP.

I basically manage with 2 Hotmail and 1 Yahoo account. I've seen too many other services come and go. I figured out long ago that probably Hotmail and Yahoo weren't going anywhere.

Hotmail works very well with Outlook / Outlook Express as if were a POP3. Hotmail will segregate any e-mail not from an entity in my Hotmail address book to a separate folder. It is easy to upload my Outlook Express address book to Hotmail. I download only the messages from my INBOX, the other folders I just sync the headers.

With that, I have one Hotmail account that is my primary personal account. It is used only for friends and family. It gets spam because I get evites and egreetings. But the segregation takes care of that.

I have a second Hotmail account, which is kind of my "public account." I get subscriptions to sites, post my e-mail in public, etc. It doesn't get spammed as bad as one would think.

I use Yahoo for my purchases and software registration, etc. Yahoo is very good about segregating most spam. I just clear out my boxes before making a purchase. The next thing in will be the confirmation. I move the confirmation to another folder. This account gets hit with spam big time. I go up there every so often to keep it alive and clear it out. But if I'm not buying things, I don't have to go up there too much.

So the most important box is the INBOX of my main account. But sometimes my friends will send from an alternate account and it will wind up in my Bulk folder of my main account. But I'm not squirrling though hundreds of spam!

This system works and works quite well. Also, it's free.

I have been using PopTray for a long time now, does a great job, and Renier (the author) keeps updating it all the time to be even better. Best of all it is free!

Hotmail will be upgrading their free service to 250 MB and 10 mb attachments.

The solution isn't going to get any easier.
