I had these at one time. Work firewall blocks a click on the 'check for updates' with both apps. I know there are places to just get the most recent update and download but I'm not having any luck trying to search them up.

You can manually download Adaware http://updates.ls-servers.com/reflist.zip. I get the refupdate email notice and the links are included.

I don't think there is one for Spybot. I checked the log and tried the update link and it was forbidden. :) I didn't see any in the forum either, I didn't look too far.

Thanks for that Maggie. Worked fine.

The is (or was) a similar one for Spybot but really hard to locate.

They have changed the webpage so often I have a hard time tracking it. I remember seeing a link with the list of updates when they first started Spybot.

Darn I had a message all typed out and the web went goofy

SpyBot had a manual updater for 1.2 I dont think there is one yet for 1.3
but you could just check for updates then look at the log. use the url to manual download it to the update folder then look inside to see where they all need to be.. most of cource should be extracted to the includes folder, so double check, then close and re-open the program.

by the way there one out just now. a regular includes and a beta if your inclined.

A have icons for Spybot, Ad-aware, and NAV on my Desktop. Whenever I want to, I double-click on the icon to bring up the program's window and then, in the case of Spybot, click on its "Search for Updates" button. If an update is available, there's a button for dowloading it into the program's folder. Same routine with the others. Quick, simple.

Does your firewall interfere with doing that, Newt? If so, can you re-configure it?

The problem is our work firewall is locked down in such a way that when I tell Spybot to search for updates it takes about a half second and then says none are available. The request is never getting outside our LAN.

I'm in North Carolina and the security folks who control the firewall are in a site in Virginia I think (or maybe in New York). In any event, they pay absolutely zero attention to those of us in the boonies.

I just updated at home so I think I'll just email stuff to work.

Includes.zip for sure. Any ideas about online.ini and downloaded.ini since both of them are updated too?

    http://spybot.eon.net.au/updates/files/includes.zip

How do you update with that? There are no setup or ex files. Just curious.

    Hi Maggie

You would have to look inside and find out where they need to be extracted to then unzip each file there, sort of a work-around untill they release an exe to do it for us.

Thanks Lonnie. Glad I'm a home user and have full control of my firewall. Maybe if there were enough complaints at the net integration forum they would add a manual update for Spybot 1.3.

Unzipped the includes.zip to the includes folder and ran the app. Found new stuff to immunize so I'm assuming the update worked. No baddies except the bogus DSO stuff but the PC may just be clean with nothing to find.

Lonnie - the file I ran was the latest includes.zip from my home PC but I also got the one from your link and the file dates are the same so that link will do fine to manually grab updates. Thanks.
