   Greetings, Each time I open Outlook, the last message is always highlighted and opens. Is there any way to stop this from happpening? Thanks

   In the left hand panel, hight-light "Local Folders ".
   
   In the tool bar, click View > Layout and uncheck the box for "Preview ... "
