i have recently had to re-format my computer. i had windows 98 and have now installed windows 2000(me)
i cannot get the colour on my computer to change. it only has 16 bit colour and nothing else is listed in the colour settings.
can you help me figure out how to load 256 bit colour.
also since loading windows 2000 my computer and mouse will freeze for a couple of seconds at a time, frequently. is there a way to fix it?
    thanks

You will need to update your Graphics card driver, so you can select 16 or 32Bit colour. Use a refresh rate of 85Hz if your monitor supports it.

May want to select you particular monitor under monitor properties. It may be listed as standard, or plug and play monitor. Not necessarily a problem but will assist in changing colour and refresh rate settings if windows uses a specific monitor driver as well.

Mouse freezing probably means a conflict with another device. Check in the device manager under your mouse in the device properties area for any information. May be worth uninstalling the mouse and let windows redetect it again and reinstall it. A driver update for the mouse particularly if it's an optical or cordless variety may help.

Please follow the forum Posting Rules. Rule #3 calls for a meaningful thread title.

Since you are new, I changed this one for you.
