    I need a new printer and although I hope to get a monocrome laser in the not too distant future I will be using this printer alone for some time. I can get the HP 970Cxi shipped for about $265. I'm also looking at the Canon S500 & S800, and the Epson 785 & C80. Advise?

    I owned that printer a year ago, very nice indeed! But since I bought a HP 990cxi. Not much diff. Go with the 990 for the same price as even this printer is a yr old now. Winxp has the drivers on the cd too, if ya run xp:)
