    where is it in win 2000 pro.

    i had 98se on the only partition adn selected clean install for 2000 pro and now have the two systems on the one partition and want to remove 98.

    It is on the root of the boot partition, but is hidden and a system file so you'll have to enable viewing of hidden system files to be able to see it.

    i know how to show hidden files, tried that and thought i'd see it in the c: drive but didn't.

    what am i doing wrong? :confused:

    Certainly should have showed up and has to be there for 2K to start.

    Try start~run~notepad c:\boot.ini and see if it opens the file for you.

    :D last time i edited was eons ago, config.sys, autoexec.bat, i think dinosaurs were roaming the earth.

    i took the lead and found the same type but a little different info in my xppro rig and thought all of dos was gone, what a pleasant surprise.

    remember deltree, no looking back after that one.

    Deltree! Happy days on the support lines! Deltreeing windows folders prior to a reinstall of Windows 95. I'm getting all misty eyed
