    Hi,

I recently changed my display colour depth from 16-bit to 32-bit which instantly caused the loss of all the correct icons associated with folder shortcuts. In fact clicking on the root of any drive showed the same, all folders were now shown as the default (unassociated) icon.

Returning the screen resolution back to its old value and then to the new value solved the icon problem but now when I double click a folder I get the search window appear instead of being able to explore the folder!

Can anyone tell me how the double click activity is selected for folders, and how I can change it from search to explore?

Also I have noticed recently that I am unable to search the forum by username (an unrelated problem since it happens on all my machines).

    Any idea why this is?

    Regards FarmerJo

Click on the link to download folder_open.vbs. Follow the directions on the download page to run it and it should fix the problem with search opening instead of a folder.

If you'd rather make the registry edits yourself, open the above file in Notepad to see the changes needed.
