Boot Time Disk Checking/Defrag Problems

    I can't get windows to do a boot time chkdsk through Norton or by clicking on the hard drive icon, then clicking properties, etc. I also cannot get Raxco's PerfectDisk to do a boot time defrag. It's like something has already locked my drive. I don't know what the problem is. Can anyone help me out? Thanks for any info.

    Hello SBacklin,

    If you're running any ZA v5.0 Firewall - this is a problem for some. The following is from a post of mine, although its about chkdisk, it also seems to affect defraggers as well. Those that have the problem, some are not helped by shutting ZA off - if applicable, try it.

    One of the non obvious problems that v5.0 may be causing XP users is with chkdisk:
