I tried transferring my backup using the FSTW, before I knew that it sucked, onto my formatted drive and this is the message I got after it processed for about 20 minutes:

Does anyone here know of a cure for this? I have tried and updated all service packs for windows xp like the knowledge base told me to do. Is there something that I may be missing? Thanks

BTW, I did a total format of the drive and installed all original programs that were bought with the computer. Basically a factory format and install (if that's the correct wording for it).

How did you back up your data for the FSTW? What media did you use?

I saved it onto the HD (it was like 2GB), then used a file splitter and burned it onto a few CD-R's. I put them back together and it is now on my HD again.

So first get the update for the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard from WindowsUpdate, or make sure you installed Service Pack 1 of XP.

I already have everything that I can update on here. That was one of the first things I did was update windows. I even tried setting MSConfig to do a diagnostic start up and it still gave me the same message.

This may well be the source of your problems.

How do I know if it is? And if it is, is there a way for me to repair it?
