After doing a FRESH install of Windows XP Pro, Windows shows two floppy drives installed. However, I can't access the A-Drive. I've tried uninstalling the extra drive through System Devices. Once one of them is uninstalled or disabled, the drive works fine . . . until I reboot. Windows goes thorugh the FOUND NEW HARDWARE process, at which time the second drive appears and my drive is again disabled. Microsoft tech support couldn't help after spending an hour with them. Any suggestions?

    Hi Villela
    Welcome to the boards!
What happens if you go to device manager and remove them both and reboot? Will it just recognize the one?

Hi Daizy! Even if I remove both through the Device Manager, once Windows reboots, I get them both back after Windows goes through the FOUND NEW HARDWARE process. Extremely frustrating. The only way I can use my A-Drive is to NOT reboot once I've uninstalled one of them.

Have you tried to set your second floppy option to Not Installed in your BIOS? ;)
