Seen Mozila 1.7 RC 3 is out, but so is Firefox 0.9 RC.

And I am wondering if now is the time to jump ship.

    Labarum,

Firefox0.9 is still in beta stage, and Firefox 1.0 will be the first stable release. Whether or not you want to switch now, can only be determined after you use 0.9, and are satisfied with its performance.

Yep, I know, but its tempting. Sure does look pretty, and is subjectively faster.

    Labarum,

Then go for it! I am perfectly satisfied with the Mozilla 1.7 beta's, as they are as stable as 1.6 Final. I was just being conservative, and practical, for those members who are novices. You are very experienced, so that does make a huge difference!

Let us know what else is new with 0.9, other than Faster than a speeding bullet! ;)

I'll take your word for it, Ramona.

Gentlemen are more open about their age - I am almost 55.

    Labarum,

You are a spring chicken! I am 67, and really don't mind revealing my age. Yes, we ladies are often quite sensitive about our age, but what the heck! You're only as old as you feel, and all I can say is that I'm so glad I'm not old like that reflection I keep getting in the mirror! :p

Is there a writeup about Firefox 0.9? I wasn't able to find it.
BTW I have you both beat on age! So don't pull any seniority on me :D

Since I have this :) "youthful experience" :D in one spot, would like to reap some of your wisdom. Have had a reoccurring problem with all released versions of 1.7 beta's. All emails from "info@jpl.nasa.gov" will cause browser and email client to autoclose when I try to open them. It is an IMAP managed account. I can copy the email to my POP3 account or open it from the WEBview (myrealbox) and never a problem. But when opened from the Mozilla IMAP account, both browser and email close. It's as predictable as M$ updates and repetitive as spam in your inbox. Wondering if anyone else has had the problem or is it a known bug? I've allowed "Agent" to report the problem numerous times.

    Hi Dennis,

How about forwarding one of those messages to me at my IMAP account...

    Hi Ramona

One is on the way. After I sent it, tried to open it, same problem. Also included a "CC copy" to myself, when it arrives, will try to open it.

    Thanks
    Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

Oh yeah, it crashed my Mozilla 1.7 RC 3 in a flash. The error was in GKLAYOUT.DLL, is that the error you had? I have 10 bugs listed on this error, and to the best of my knowledge there is no fix to date. Some users report that a new Profile does the trick, and yet others says that reinstalling Mozilla also gets rid of the error. However, if these are the only emails which cause a crash, I wouldn't bother. Instead you might report them to the originator...

    Dennis,

You have an option at the bottom of the message to change your email preference. Try the "Plain Text" and see if it crashes Mozilla Mail. I was able to read the mail from myrealbox Web Portal with no problemo!

    Hi Ramona

Yep, as mentioned previous, no problem from WEBview... have you tried "copy" to POP3 account. Works perfect for me when opened in POP3.

    ERROR / Crash
I do not receive any "error msg" issued to the screen. Browser / email client politely closes, Agent sends out a report... no hangs, no locks, never lost any file info.

    PROFILE
My current profile is about 6 weeks old, got the tail end of 1.7xx three releases ago.

    IMAP
Think there is any relationship.... you and I are both using "myrealbox" as the IMAP mailbox provider. Anyone with a Mozilla IMAP account -NOT- provided by "myrealbox" care to allow me to forward a email.... Westside.... you home?

    Installs
This has occured for all 1.7 releases. The last install was two days ago. I download new release, uninstalled old version, reboot, installed new version.

Late at night, but home. I have AOL set up as an IMAP account, beside Myrealbox. I don't know if AOL counts, but it works better than the pseudo-IMAP in Netscape.
I am using a drastic method of spam control, in AOL, blocking everyone but a few. Ramona is one of the few. May be we can work it out that way.
I don't understand if you had set up Myrealbox as a POP3 account. It can be either IMAP or POP3.
