I am looking for a very simple reminder utility which runs from the system tray. Have anyone ever used any particular one, which you recommend. preferably i wouldn't like to use this feature from Microsoft Outlook, because i do not wish to let that resource eater running in the background for such a small feature.

    any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Thank You!

I'm not familiar with any of those types of programs, but there are several freebies here. Maybe one will suit your needs. :)

I use the desktop sidebar for keeping track of upcoming events and my to do list. It uses the underlying Outlook system, so may be a little resource hungry, but I wouldn't like to manage without it now!

Now that looks interesting. Will have it loaded at home by tomorrow morning. Thanks.

Glad you find it interesting. I love it. It is very easy to customise to the way you want it. Even simple things like the process monitor is useful (shows well that system slow downs often occur because the AV software is active). Setting it up to show unread e-mail (colour coded by date), upcoming events in my calendar and open tasks has been a godsend to me and greatly assisted my time management.

Be careful with Sidebar ! I may have the wrong configuration (98SE)
or maybe I am just unlucky or got a bad download.
Install failed - cannot create some wierd CLID; 20 mega stuff dumped in Windows\Temp; 1766 keys added to registry - that's 300KB !
Cannot run, cannot uninstall (no uninstaller)
Took me an hour to get rid of it all (incl. a registry restore)
Not for the faint hearted. As far as I can see, it's "Made in Italy ".
And not dissimilar in construction to a dish of spaghetti.

It was a doodle with XP-pro. A little slow to load but the box I put it on is pretty memory limited. That will be fixed tonight since I just got some memory in the mail before leaving for work and by tomorrow I'll be up from 256Mb to 1256Mb.
