I have purchased an EIDE DVD RW drive. Currently installed in the computer is a CD ROM drive and a CD-RW drive and I want to install the new DVD drive in ADDITION to the two existing drives. I have 2 IDE connections on the MB. The CD-ROM and CD-RW are master and slave plugged into one of the IDE connection, the hard drive is plugged into the other IDE connection.

Can I plug the DVD drive to the same cable as the hard drive? Seems to me I read somewhere that this was not considered kosher. If yes, then I assume the DVD would be the slave. If no, what alternative do I have beside pulling out one of the existing drives?

My MB is an ASUS A7V333 with raid support.
