Problems Logging In After Being On Internet

problem is ad-adware like msn toolbar, ie plugins.i have ad-adware plus with latest ref file. problems are you delete these file and log- off or reboot and
you cannot get back into desktop. it will log off if you put your password in or
if you don't have one. you have reinstall the whole operating system win xp
home again because it does not matter what you do it will not get you back
to desktop, F8 OPTIONS ALL DO NOT WORK, I have tried them all.one of these things are blade, twain.dll, search assistance which destroys your
    quick launch in taskbar.

I think I'm maybe a little confused about your exact problem but here is what I think you are saying. Please correct any mistakes I make.

    - If you run ad-aware and remove any bad things it finds and reboot, you cannot get logged on to the PC and have had to reload XP-home.

    - When you boot, F8 does not take you to a menu where you can select Safe Mode startup. Note that on some PCs you have to use the Del key or the F2 key or some other. Are you sure it is F8 on your PC?

    - I really have no clue what you meant by one of these things are blade, twain.dll, search assistance which destroys your quick launch in taskbar.

How many times have you had the problem and had to reload XP?

What AntiVirus program are you using and is it up to date?

Also, please follow the directions in post #2Here for Hijackthis and post the log file into this thread.

this is a follow up to previous thread. [admin]: please keep it all in one place... same prroblem (merged)
i have a problem after being on the internet and restarting my pc it will not allow me to log back into win xp. this his happen 3 times in the last few weeks  .the direct problem is with a i.e plugin
which i have i think comes from one of four websites namely1) webshots.com
    2) mp3sound.com 3) mp3.net or 4) webpark.kadadu.com, one of these websites is causing this problem to my pc, so the best think is to stay
away from theses websites. I have ad-adware plus 6 build 181 with latest
ref file, norton personal firewall, norton anti-virus. spec of pc 3.2 gb pentium
4, 768 ram, ALL the latest windows updates from microsoft. Previous this ie plugin destroyed my quick launch taskbar icon and what is i delete this plugin from add and remove program but when i restarted my pc i could loggin to desktop, what it does i put my password in and logs you out again so when is happens you have to reinstall the whole operating system because it does not matter what you do, i.e F8 DOES NOT WORK BECAUSE IT LOGS YOU OUT
    again.

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like you have some type of malware, but try a System File Check first. Start > Run > cmd
    sfc /scannow
    Have your XP cd

sfc - system file checker, retrieves the correct version of the file from %Systemroot%\System32\Dllcache or the Windows installation source files, and then replaces the incorrect file. If you want to see what was replaced, right click My Computer > manage, expand event viewer > system.

After you do that, if the problem does not resolve itself, post a HijackThis log here for us.

the scan it will not log you back on to desktop. on lavasoft.com a user had
the same problem and had to reinstall win xp. SO BE AWARE OF AD-WARE

    Nah...I think you've been misled...
AdAware is not crashing your comp.

Are you waiting long enough for Ad-Aware to do its thing?

I tell my customers that when Spybot wants to run on the next boot that about 10 seconds after the panic sets in because it looks like Windows has stalled out, Spybot finally starts up, does its scan and then can be closed.

I've not used Ad-Aware on boot because I always run the Ad-Aware scan first, don't let it run on the next boot if it asks, then run Spybot and let it if it wants to run on the next boot. However, it's possible that Ad-Aware has that long, panic-inducing delay, too.

jonathan is not writing about the free scanner - the plus version has a resident component, and he's right, the plus version gives some users problems.

I am having the exact same problem as Jonathan. I ran Adaware and it told me I needed to reboot in order to delete files and so I did and now whenever I try to login it flashes my wallpaper and then automatically logs me out.

I have the FREE version of Adaware.

Go into safe mode and take AdAware out of your start up. In fact, uninstall it while you're in there. Reboot. Run Spybot, let it delete defaults. Reinstall AdAware, scan again. I have been running AdAware Plus for nearly three years, and it has NEVER prompted me to reboot. Make a note of anything it wants to delete on the next boot, and use MoveOnBoot to delete it, not AdAware. reboot, then run AdAware again. Post back and let us know how it's going.
