I would like to up grade my Win98 to XP. I've duplicated C:\ on another hard drive in case something goes wrong. There are to other partitions to the drive I'll be upgrading. If I up grade to NTFS format, will it read the other 2 partitions that are in fat32? I have OSL2000 duel boot program and plan on using it with the other hard drive that has Win98. The upgrade doesn't recomend upgrading to NTFS if there is going to be a duel boot system. What will the problem be if upgrading to NTFS?

Windows XP will read FAT, FAT32 & NTFS.

Windows 98 won't read the NTFS partition.

    Upgrade win98 to XP

Thanks. Will the upgrade to NTFS work all the programs I have in my Win98 FAT32? If XP NTFS reads and changes a file in another drive, does it change it to NTFS or will it stay the same because of the drive format?

It will stay the same. Actually, the file would be the same regardless of which format the drive is. It's the file system that's different, not the actual files themselves.
