Okay, I have two connections on my laptop, a wireless card and an ethernet card. I hook the E up to my PC, and the wireless is hooked up to a hub in the building that gives me hi-speed internet access. Unfortunately, they can't seem to get along. If I am connected only to the wireless hub, I can use the internet connection. However, as soon as I use the ethernet to access my PC, my internet connection dissappears. I think this is because my computer stops trying to connect to the internet through the wireless card and tries to go through the pc, which has no internet connection.

The question is, is there any way, in WinXP, to tell my computer which connection to use for internet access?

    Thanks

I think you need to restate the problem. I read it last night and couldn't quite figure out what your situation was. Left it a while and just looked again. Still not sure.

You can't use them both at the same time. So disable the wireless connection if it is giving you problems while you are on the wired. Is your wired on a Lan without internet?
The only way I can keep my wireless using the Lan is if I use dialup for the internet and I only use that if my DSL goes out.

My wired connection has no access to the internet. I dont use bridging or connection sharing, so my PC cannot access the internet. My laptop is attached to the PC over the wired connection; it uses the wireless connection to get to the internet.

The problem is, if I access my PC from my laptop using the wired connection, the laptop then starts using the wired connection to connect to the internet instead of the wirless connection. This of course fails, since the wired connection has no internet access. So I'm having trouble successfully accessing my PC while keeping my internet access.

    Ok, here's my possible solution:
There might be a resource conflict when both devices try to use the same resources at the same time. Does your problem go both ways (read: if you connect to the wireless hub while connected to your PC do you lose your wired connection)? If that is the case, it could very well be a conflict such as this. Also, you may want to try to find new drivers from the manufacturer (that's alwasy the easiest solution). If you happen to have one try installing a NIC into a PCMCIA slot and use that one in place of one of the onboard devices, if it then works, you may have to just do it that way until the manufacturer addresses the issue in a future driver update.
