    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here could help me with this. I've recently built a new system- AMD64 3200, 1 gig 3200 RAM, gfx5900, that kind of stuff, but I'm having a problem with AGP beign disabled in Windows. First of all, I know it's actually enabled in the BIOS- I dual boot with Linux and AGP 8x is working fine there. I've checked with the nvidia software, wcpuid, cpuz, sandra and 3dmark, and that all state that AGP is disabled. As far as I knew, all that was needed was to enable AGP in the BIOS.. But apparently not. Does anyone have any idea of what could be causing this?

    Thanks.

Hardware is not an area I know much about but you might find some useful info in one of the links from Here.

You didn't say but are you trying to run an AGP device in XP that is failing? If so, there may well be specifics on the failure in your event logs.

    Question.

    Imek,

I don't see any mention of your mobo, and agp is a mobo thing. May not help get an answer, but I, for one, would like to know which mobo you have.

Wait! I fixed it. I don't believe I've been so stupid..

There were some AGP drivers on the motherboard (Gigabyte K8VT800M) driver CD disguised as a 'VIA 4-in-1 driver' - I remember installing some drivers from the CD a while ago, but apparently it omitted this one for some reason.. Anyway, it works fine now. Sorry about that..
