can win2k and XP exist on the same box( dual booting with 2 hard drives ) with the same user, computer name?

Can i have w2k on the first hard drive with user "bob" computer name "bobc" on doamin "jersey" ALONG with XP on another drive with the same comfiguration?

w2k pro is the server OS, does your user profile need to know what operating system you're using?

Can i have XP configured the exact same way as w2k? as far as user name and comp name, and just boot back and forth between the 2 of do i need 2 different users?

yes u r gonna have to have seperate profiles. but u can use the same name and password.

when i install the dual boot windows xp defaulted to the c drive so u may just want to go ahead and put it there.( i know i know i did tell it to go to d and it totaly ignored me...lol windows is hard headed like that) now on mine i can go into my d drive, (win 2k) and move files to my c drive, (win xp), but i can't move from c to d. but both run great so enjoy it.

If you're on a network you should use different computer names for w2k and XP, and the tcp/ip addresses assigned to the NIC also should be unique. Treat each OS installation as a separate computer, because that's how the network will see them. Two computers on a network with the same name or IP address won't work.
