    Dear Sirs,

I do the following command to create a text file occasionally:

    from the command prompt: c:>ipconfig /all >ipconfig.txt

This creates a text file with the information on ip instead of just sending it to the screen. Anyway...I seems it opens up in notepad ok but then for some reason when you open it again or at a later time the formatting of the text is not all jumbled.....any suggestions.....may have to try it. but I am searching.....hopefully something will work!!!! Thank you for your time!
    Have a great day!! PEACE

    jd

    What OS?

What happens if you type the .txt file from a command window?

Have you tried another text editor besides notepad?

Well, could be something awry w/ your Notepad.
I just did a ipconfig /all >ipconfig.txt and could open the saved txt file by using the cmd or by double clicking the txt file and both appear the same, no troubles.

If you like it, there is an option when you click on Help to have it replace notepad. I suggest that. If you later change your mind, also the option under Help to restore notepad as the default.
