windows wont update

i am having trouble updating windows, i have checked around different sites and tried their sollutions but nothing comes close to fixing the problem. I log on to the internet go to windows update, install the software, and wait for the percent to go up, of cource it sits at 0% forever (havent actually tried that) any ideas???

Have you tried downloading the updates and installing them from your local HD rather than over the internet?

 

is your clock and calander correct?

Do a search on this BBS, particularly on the XP BBS as there is a wealth of info regarding windows update problems, and this will negate us repeating ourselves. It is a well used and researched topic.
