oh no not another lost mail thread

Yup, another one. Got the dreaded setup profile window, ended up setting up a new profile. I had the mail folder backed up into a zip, (but not the full Profiles folder) and restored all the files into the new Mail folder. I got my mail back, but not all of it. seems the restored mail only goes back to March 1st, 2004 in all of my folders. there was a lot of email saved in the sub folders that go back quite some time. why does it only read back 3 months? I'm running NS 7.02, win xp.

 

ok, found another thread on copying email. I will attempt to restore the files and not include the .msf files...

Hi Rob,

Your subfolders are contained in the *.sbd folders. If you Zipped the entire Mail folder, they should be included.

Hi Ramona, thanks for your websight, glad to know I'm not the only person having problems with Netscape. Once I get this problem taken care of, I'll look into the Mozilla browser for sure..

Didn't get a chance to work on it last night. When I restored the first time I got email back, but it only went back three months. Any explanation for that?

 

Hi Rob,

If you copied all your Mail files, with no MSF extensions, all SBD folders, and your backup was current, then you should have all your mail.

I have done all you suggested, Netscape will not show emails earlier than 3/1/2004...
