All received email is going to Outlook Express. I would like to receive it in NS, but leaving Outlook Express setup.

    lbfoto,

You probably need to make Netscape your default browser.

    lbfoto,

Are you still using NetZero as your ISP?

Do you have Outlook Express set as your default mail handler? Open OE and click on Tools. Then click on Options and select the General tab. At the bottom of the screen you will see the default setting. If OE is set as default, change it. If that doesn't help, I'm sure that Ramona will get you fixed up.

    Ramona;

What a memory. No, I dumped Netzero finally. It was becoming quite unstable again. Qwest (Ma Bell) offered a good deal on DSL, and I figured that they would still be in business for the next 100 years, so I switched.

Mike; I checked my default again, and it is set for NS default.

I finally gave up in frustration and did something else for a couple of hours. When I came back and turned my computer back on, it worked just fine. What can I say?

    lbfoto,

Glad to hear that it's working. Must have had some gremlins in there for awhile!

I spoke too soon. My email is still going to Outlook Express instead of Netscape.

I checked Outlook Express and it shows that NS is the default application. NS also shows that NS is the default app. Any ideas, Ramona?

    lbfoto,

    Two more settings to check:

    Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups
Is "Use Netscape as the Default Mail Application" enabled?

    Edit | Preferences | System
Ensure that the following are enabled:
    File Types: HTML Documents
    Protocols: http, https

    lbfoto,

    Open Windows Explorer
Click on: View | Folder Options | File Types
Scroll down to: URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol
    Click on: Edit
    Click on: Edit
This what you should have in the "Application used to perform action" field:
    C:\PROGRA~1\NETSCAPE\NETSCAPE\NETSCP.EXE -url "%1 "

    Run regedit
Start | Run then type: regedit
Look at this Registry Key, and see if Netscape is the application shown
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\HTTP\Shell\Open\ddeexec\Application

It is sometimes necessary to make Internet Explorer the default browser, first.
Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options
    Click on the Programs Tab
Enable: "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser ".

If you run Windows XP open Add/Remove | Set Program Access and Defaults
Ensure that Netscape is enabled as Default Browser and Mail Program

    lbfoto,

    Open Windows Explorer
On the Toolbar at the top of the window you have these buttons:
    File - Edit - View - Favorites - Tools - Help

Click on View, and the last option in the dropdown menu is Folder Options

I made Internet Explorer the default for email and it works great.

Thank you all for your help. Also, I'm impressed. No one suggested that I disconnect my hard drive first, as happened on another bbs for another problem.

    lbfoto,

I hope that you mean that making IE the Default, and then making Netscape the Default mail program worked?

Actually, Netscape was already the default browser, I went into Internet Explorer and made it the default browser. Netscape has been working great so far. Thanks again.
