If you turn off sharing in Windows 2000 (even on NTFS Partitions), and then re-boot, the "default" share comes back. Is this a "back-door" for Microsoft to get into the system? Is there a way to turn this "feature" off?

    Thanks

The admin share is what you are seeing. It is not a "backdoor" for Microsoft. Only local / domain administrators in your organization can access the administrative shares, which by default are the C and any other harddrive you have.
There is a Microsoft KB article that describes how to disable this feature.
