WToolsS.exe-Log-What next

    I have been reading all the posts on the WTools problems. I have spent countless hours with my computer support people and gained nothing. I have deleted all the files except for one file that says it is being used by another application.
    I decided to run a download the Hijackthis and run a log so I can get help if other things are problems also.
    I, like one other poster started have problems with my acrobat reader when this WTools started. In my downloaded windows files, it now says I have file damage --ActiveX control C:Windows\Downlo..\QDow.DLL . I don't know if this a coincidence or not.
    Warning, I am very much a beginner, no exaggeration there.

    Any help appreciated :)

    do you use any antispyware program ? if so what ?

    also what have you insalled lately ? anything that might have beed adware supprted ? if not perhaps a so called free program ?

    I am posting new log after following the instructions to delete folders and remove listings on logs.
    I have only downloaded the software to run my copier/scanner/printer from the Canon site. I also had tried to get my Acrobat reader to work by reloading that program to no avail.
    I currently have no spyware programs on my computer.

    get and install both SpyBot and Adaware (both are free)

    acrobat reader,
    have you tried uninstall it then download and install again yet
    rather than installing over the top
    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
    choose to "Do not use Adobe Download Manager"

    Im not sure what that file you mentioned has anything to do with the reader
    QDow.DLL, as its not on my system.

    do you still get an error ?
