    Hi All,

I have a home page hosted in my machine, when I update the pages, I can see the changes by browsing http://localhost but when I access it from outside with http:// My Ip Number I can't see the changes. I tried to fix the problem by:

    Server side
    1. restarting the the IIS 6.0
    2. Uploading manually the new files by copy&paste into the folder in wwwroot
    3. restarting the computer

    Client side
    1. restarting the computer
    2. refreshing the page several times
    3. deleting the cookies, files, history and contents by the internet options

    Nothing worked.

    Any ideia why?

    Thanks in advance.

When you say "outside" do you mean outside the server itself (still on the LAN) or outside as in from the Internet ?

If the latter (which I suspect) then this is likely to be a firewall / address transformation / service redirect question

If the former then its likely to be an IIS issue

Post more details and we'll move on...

    Movie File

    Hi Andy,

I was doing such an idiot thing. I have 3 servers and I was updating one server and trying to check the changes in other server, I was working remotly...

Now it gets updated, but I have another problem now. I can see the page from outside my lan (thru a public lan) but I can't view one .wmv file (it's a movie clip).

In the machine itself I can view the clip (http://localhost), thru the public connection (http://My Ip Number) I can't. The streaming (movie file) is located inside the folder C:\wmpub\WMRoot of the Windows Media Server, is that right?

    Thanks,

    Mori,

Do you get an actual error message (if so then please post) or does it just not display ?

    mms:// link

    Hi Andy,

The file doesn't display. There is something wrong with the WMS settings because when I look the properties of the file (when opening the file in the client's windows media player, the link is mms://MyFolderName/MyFileName.wmv instead mms://MyIpAddress/MyFolderName/MyFileName.wmv so, when the client try to view the file it points to nowhere.

Have any idea how to make the client able to view the file?

PS: when I put the file in other folder inside the IIS it works well (when the client view the file by http://MyIpAddess/MyFolderName/MyfileName.wmv) but doesn't work when mms://MyIpAddress/MyFolderName/MyFileName.wmv , which means that I am not using the windows media services unless I can make it work on mms:// .

    Thanks.

Just a shot in the dark but double check the web permissions on that folder.
