This still needs to be fixed.
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [msmc] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\msgked.exe
And the file deleted from C:\Windows\System folder. If system restore is enabled when you reboot, or it is present in a temp folder or recycle bin, this could be put back. Make sure all are empty and disabled. If the file is already gone and only the HJT entry remains, fixing it should finish up the job.

Make sure also that this one is gone, C:\Windows\System\svc.exe, as noted in the other thread last night.

    Log looks fine. :)
Never heard of such a thing. Which firewall was it? Sounds more like you were attempting to install another AntiVirus program. They usually do prompt you to remove the one already installed.

Yes, EZ Armor is an antivirus/firewall package. A very good one at that. If it were me, and it was once upon a time, I would install it and take out the AVG. Not that there's anything wrong with AVG though. Both are good programs. The firewall with EZ is a bit of a step up from what you get from the free versions. But it is a version of the free Zone Alarm. The important thing is that you install a firewall.

    Decisions...decisions.......... :D

Can I remove AVG by using the Add/ Remove programs option?

Yes. Or just locate it in your programs list (start menu) and click on it's uninstaller.

What about the virus's that are contained in the AVG Virus Vault. If I uninstall, what happens with those?

That's a really good question. :) I wish I had an equally good answer. My thinking is they would be deleted, or the vault just left in place undisturbed. Take a look in the vault to see what is there. They could probably all be deleted. If in doubt about any, post the contents and someone will advise what should be done.

I was able to delete all the virus's from the vault, as it had that option.

I guess I will get the firewall/ anti virus combo software. :)

Good move IMO. AVG will still be there when the trial's up if you don't feel the renewal price is worth the protection you recieve. Most do! :D
