I'm a current eTrust customer. I just downloaded the trial version of their new antivirus. If I put in my current license #, will that be all that's needed to activate it?

I think you also have to enter your new customer number. The new customer number should be in the same email as the license number. I just renewed mine recently also. I put the customer number in so I can't tell you if it will work without it or not. Actually, I think the program will work fine but it's more a matter of whether or not you can get updates. If you didn't see a place to enter your customer number in the licensing and registration thingy, go back in there and take a second look. I missed it the first time too. Don't remember just exactly where it was. I think you have to click the details button next to the customer number that's currently there. I don't remember for sure but it's something like that. This is one part of the program they could do a better job on.

    Yay! I have it

It brought over my license **** from the old version. Now I have 6.2, and it has a nice autodownload engine.

Glad to hear you it worked out for you. I always hold my breath when doing these types of things. They can be troublesome at times. :)

Yeah, but I've never had major problems with this program, going back to the InoculateIT days.

Interested to hear good things about the current version of ths software

Used to use InnocuLAN with a lot of customers but it seemed to lose its way with InnoculateIT (remember ArcServeIT, ShipIT, SecureIT etc)

Generally look at Network Associates AVD for customers these days and/or Trend as viruswall/mailsweeper

Well, I'm extremely happy with it. It's easy on the system and does what it's supposed to do and doesn't get in the way while doing it. It uninstalls as it should and doesn't hook into every nook and cranny of your system. The annual renewal fee is well worth it when you consider that with a program such as Norton you have to pay for the program and then pay the additional renewal fees each year. Not to mention that after 2 or 3 years of using Norton they suddenly don't support it anymore and you have to buy the program again if you want to be able to get updates for it (in my opinion, nothing short of a scam). McAfee like Norton and Etrust, does the job too, but once installed, it too, seems to want to own your system. People on this board are no doubt getting tired of me writing about this but hey, you asked. Until it's dead and gone, I'll use Etrust. :D

Well said Zander. That's why I love eTrust so much. It does the job without taking over the computer.
