    Hi everyone.

I wonder if anyone can help me out.I was updating internet explorer 6
settings and went to restart my computer when a box appeared called
"WTOOLSA" This is has performed an illegal operation and will be shutdown.

When I click on the details the main text says...WTOOLSA caused an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll at 0167:bff767lf

Now everytime I start window's up the box appears and I can actually click the 'x' to get rid of it, but could you please tell me how I can stop it
    appearing altogether.

I look forward to any help or advice.

    Regards,

    Paul

See if this past post helps:
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=30249

Do you remember installing any of these win tools as shown via the sublink in the link above?

If not this is related to adware leech and somehow connected to the known "Huntbar" creepie:
    http://groups.google.com/groups?q=WTOOLSA&num=100&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&newwindow=1&sa=N&tab=wg

Are you familiar with lavasoft "Ad-awre" removal tool or "spybot "?

    ==========
    Opps!

Just noticed a disclaimer on the legitimate site wintools.net that goes like this:
'WToolsA.exe', 'WToolsS.exe', 'WSup.exe', 'WinTools Easy Installer' and 'WinTools' for internet explorer v2 are not our products. We do not spread viruses and trojans! Please use any antivirus program to remove viruses from your computer.

That rules this out as being a legitimate api run, which leaves Adware foist/leech creepy.

Removal is in the other threaded past post. Which, even as you are viewing this, is on the board as a current topic. I didn't realize this (referring to the link being a current ongoinfg topic) since this post was redirrected from the win98 forum. Aren't you lucky!
