I'm having 2 problems with Windows Me.

    1. The Show Desktop shortcut has lost it's icon, it still works and I've tryed recreating it, but the icon is not showing.

    2. The My Documents icon has repeated itself all over the Program shortcuts on my desktop, and the folders look like start menu folders, I've tried reassigning the icons to the program shortcuts, but the extra overlay is not going away. It's not consistent either, IE is not affected, neither is one folders plus things like My Computer and Network Connections, but all the other program shortcuts and folders are.

Let me know if you need any more information, or a screenshot.

Any suggestions? Please help, I'm stumped.

    Thank you,
    Jo (angelsk)

Wow, it sounds like your icon cache got Bjorked.
Check out this article: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=825936 go ahead and do both things, its not intrusive.

If that doesn't work, give us a screen shot.

hmm. that looks like you used powertoys to tweak the default shortcut arrow appearance, and its pulling the wrong image resource index out of the dll.

Perhaps setting it back to the default icon via tweakui or whatever powertoy of choice you used.

The shortcut icon - that makes sense, but don't think TweakUI has been used on this computer. Could it be used to set it back? Or is there another way? I'm assuming it's called TweakUI for Windows Me (I have the XP version).

What about the clear desktop icon?

    Thanks btw :)
