    OK boys & girls,
I need some help with a problem with IE 6.0!!

I am using W98 SE, with a recent upgade to IE 6.0 from a CD from Mocrosoft.

The problem is that Internet Explorer is not automatically redirected when a web page has the "<meta http-equiv= "refresh "...> tag ".

Here is what I found on the microsoft web-site concerning the issue:

Internet Explorer is not automatically redirected
When you load a Web page that contains the <meta http-equiv= "refresh "...> HTML tag, the browser might not automatically be redirected to another Web page. This problem might occur for one of the following reasons:

On the Security tab in the Internet Options dialog box, you have turned off the new Allow META REFRESH option for the security zone that includes the Web page. By default, this option is turned off only in the Restricted sites zone.

Now the problem I have is that I DO NOT have the "new META REFRESH option for the security zone" in my settings, so how do I correct this problem?????

    Welcome.

You're saying this setting doesn't exist on your system?
Go to Tools > Internet Options > select Internet Zone (you could select any one) > Custom Level... > about halfway down there's a setting for Allow META REFRESH...Disable/Enable it.

Have you tried a Repair or reinstall?

    Hey Kevin,
yes, that setting is not in the settings list!!

I have tried the IE repair tool, with no luck!!

I guess the only other option is a reinstall, but I wanted to see if someone had a quick fix for my problem first.

    Thanks, X :D

    Problem Solved

    Hey Kevin,
just a quick note to let you know that I resolved my IE 6.0 problem!!!

I originaly installed 6.0 directly from the CD, so I re-installed IE 6.0 using the settings menu, and installing IE 6.0 using the AD/REMOVE PROGRAMS as recomended in the README file on the CD.

This resulted in a cleaner install, with no problems so far!!!!!
