Expired certificates usually still function fine. Are you seeing errors?

Depending on the IE version you run, somewhere in tools~internet options~content you should find a button to update certificates.

If an error message, click here
Or if you want to update the Root Certificates, go to windows update and look under the Recommend Updates, after you have it scan for updates.

ok...heres thah error..(The security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust, view the certificate to determine whether you want to trust the certifying authority)....am also geting the error (page cannot be displayed)..but when i click on detect network settings,it goes to the page fine...also in my (internet options) it shows the root certificates, but underneath it it shows only (import and export) and an advanced option which really doesnt seem to be of any use. so can i still update them from here?..if so,how?..i downloaded everything in windows update as far as recommended updates and critical updates go. and my time and date in control panel is set right???? HELP!!

If you originally opted not to trust the issuing authority for a certificate, I really don't see how trying to get an updated version of a certificate from a company you don't trust would help.

I think you have an entirely different problem, due to an attempted install of some sort of software which you apparently stopped, and I believe something else did a drive by install.
I recommmend getting Spybot, the link is below, and install it. Update it first, then have it Check for Problems, and remove everything already checked off.
Then download HijackThis, the link is below. Go into Windows Explorer and left click on C:\Programs Files, then go to then to the toolbar at File, then New\Folder, name it Hijack, and unzip Hijackthis into that folder. Have it do a scan, then when it is done, the Scan button changes into Save Log. It will then open in Notepad, copy and paste the entire thing on here.

Put HijackThis into it's own folder, do a new scan, and put a check in the box next to these, then click fix selected.

Restart in Dos Mode, and do these commands, pressing Enter at the end of each line.
    smartdrv
    deltree c:\windows\applog\*.*
    deltree c:\windows\cookies
    deltree c:\windows\history
    deltree c:\windows\temp
    deltree c:\windows\tempor~1
    scanreg /opt
    scanreg /fix

Type a Y that you want to delete, check your spelling at this time. When you get the message 'windows has repaired you registry' after the last command, reboot.
Everything deleted will be rebuilt, fresh and clean, and your system will be running better.

Cool, glad to hear all is well. I should have mentioned this, but now is a great time to defrag the drive, and it should do just a tiny bit better.

This sounds like something coming from an ActiveX control, the beginning process of the install. An ActiveX control is a method for a webpage to install and run a program on your computer when you visit it. This ActiveX program does not run any other time.
When this control installs, you have a window appear asking if you want to install some program, and there is a check box to Always Trust this providor, along with a Yes and No button to click on. Is this what you are getting?
I do not think the problem is on your end at all. The root certificate on the website is expired. The certificate only means that the program has not been changed since it has been submitted to obtain the certificate, and they just never renewed it.
Just because an program has a certificate does not mean it is to be a trustworthy program, the Security/Virus/Spyware forum of this site is busy with some of this.
Just where abouts at the MSN Gaming Zone is this? As I went there, and the few games I tried to get this were Java based programs, not ActiveX so I did not get a prompt such as this.
