The last couple of days I have been getting duplicate messages (3) from different correspondents from various locations in the US.they may come 5-6 hrs, apart or, like just now, I got a duplicate that was sent yesterday. Time and date sent are the same on both messages, I recieved one yesterday , the other, today.
I also was notified that a friend got an E mail that I had mailed several weeks ago, also a duplicate.
I called my ISP tech service and I hate to say this but I don`t believe that girl knows as much as I do, which is very little. She said the people on the other end had problems. It doesn`t seem logical to me that three different people from three different locations would suddenly develop a similar problem.
I`m running Windows `98 and Grisoft`s AVG Virus protection, which I keep updated, daily, the last week or so. My ISP furnishes a POSTINI spam and virus filter? that seldom lets anything through.
I guess my question is where do I start? I`ve scanned for virus` but nothing there.Maybe it isn`t my problem ?
    As usual thanks.

No, it doesn't sound like the problem is with your computer. It is most like the ISP's mail server and could be another server down the line.

Eventually there will be enough complaints and calls, the ISP will look into it and fix it.

As you have discovered, ISP tech support is usually pretty limited. Limited, that is, to stepping customers through setting up their account to get online by reading the steps from the manual they're given. It's not really their fault. They're usually operating under a time limit they're supposed to spend on each call. They're also usually working under instructions to read the steps from the book they're given and told not to offer any other suggestions.

    Thanks Miz

Not my style to get mouthy so I didn`t say anything to that girl. I did get a giggle when I asked her if she could give me a little sympaty at least.
They probably get tired of talking to idiots all day!
    Thanks again.
