I got an alarm the other day from my MBProbe software showing the +5V was low at 4.25(see link). I decided to remove the PSU (350watt Antec) from my old PC and plug it in this one to see if that helped.

When I pulled the PSU connector plug, I noticed that the MB connector and PSU plug had taken some serious heat. The "red" wire connections have melted the plastic and are a dark brown. Have no idea what happened...

Anyway, plugging in the other PSU didn't help. I still get a low reading on the +5v. Do I need to replace my MB?

    Breakout,

I looked your up mobo and it's one of the best. I would check the BIOS setup program for voltage adjustments and make sure these are correct there. This is an overclocker's board, so there should be plenty of options.

Hi...not trying to be a smart-aleck, but unless the bios changed the settings all by itself, they should be the same as they were for the last six months.

I "m thinking I must have gotten some sort of power surge or something. I guess that's why my ATX connector is fried.

I had the PSU checked out, and it was fine. So, I'm getting a new mobo Shuttle AN35N . It looks like a pretty decent board and it wasn't too expensive. Thanks for the tip...
