minimize buttons turned into numbers??

Hi All,

I have no clue why this happened, the buttons in the top right corner of my programs (exit, minimize, etc) have turned into numbers! minimize is a 0 maximize is 1 and exit is o. Also, on web pages or when I go to shut down, the circles I can choose to fill in are not there.

Anyone have any clue what's going on here?

Hi and welcome,
These buttons are icons used in practically all applications on your PC.
Windows saves commonly used icons in a cache file to save retrieval time.
If this cache gets damaged eg by a power cut etc you will see strange
effects like the one you describe in your post.
Left Click the Start button.
Left Click Run.
In the Input Window, next to "Open" . Type this ...
del C:\Windows\shelliconcache
Press : OK
Reboot your PC
