 I followed Daizy's advice to xtrabyte about XP not shutting down and made adjustments according to the refferals that were posted in her reply, now when i shut down my computer still restarts and up goes a dark blue screen warning!
The warning suggests more adjustments but they do not help either, so i returned all to previous settings and:eek: ...not only does my computer not shut down anymore it pops up a dark blue screen and my computers needs a forcible shutdown.
    IS THERE LIFE AFTER XP HOME EDITION OR DID OSAMA GET TO MICROSOFT AS WELL?
Please help me resolve this problem i am not able to work like this.

Use the system restore function, Start|Help and Support|Undo changes to your... and restore your system to a restore point before your problems. If she won't boot try getting into safe mode using F8 during the bios post which should allow you to limp into the restore function.

A OK WITH Windows XP Dark Blue Warning Screen
This is how it all happened:
I installed and used CD creator 4.0 5.0 Platinum and all worked for a while till...Adaptec caused havoc in XP.

I uninstalled CD Creator but that is not enough folks, all was still wrong with XP, it wouldn't shut down and gave me a dark blue warning screen at start up.

Restoring my computer to an earlier date did not help at all.

I called MicroSoft Support and for peanuts they assisted me.

We went into safe mode by clicking "F8" at start up and then we went into the registry files and opened many sub folders till we reached "Reader r" & eduf files, we erased them but not before we backed up the whole registry before hand.:)

It is a bit complicated to post step by step instructions here but i will add that it was more than worth it calling MicroSoft support for phone line assistance.

Now my XP and i are in love once more.:p :p :p
