OK, now what have I done wrong ?
And I'm sure I must have done it because things worked good up until now.

    Problem:

I compose an e-mail - lots of typing of text.

    Spell check works OK.

But, I missed typing in a word or two here and there.

When we attempt to add text characters the text character to the right
gets deleted. Before I could add spaces or letters or numbers etc where they were needed. Now I cannot, without loss of text to the right.

So, how do we get the program to revert back to letting me "INSERT" text ?

Must be a key we hit or something - we don't know !

    Thanks

    Turn off overtype mode

I think you can actually pres the 'Ins' key on your keyboard, to disable overtype mode, which deletes the text the the right.

    Hope this helps,

Yup. The Insert key is a toggle key like numlock or capslock. Tap it by mistake and you get overwrite rather than insert. Tap it again and you are back to insert.

    Thanks
