I am a diehard Wordperfect user, since ver 1.2 now using Ver 8. It came with my old (very old) PC. Just got a new powerhouse and I re-installed WP-8 on it.

The problem is, I have customized the menus significantly, and I can't find the config file to copy over from the old to the new PC. I tried making a change and then sorting the dir's by date/time, hoping the config file would rise to the top. Nada.

Does anybody know where the config file is, and its name, or are there more than 1 file?

My fallback is to pencil down the icons in each of over a dozen menues, and recreate them on the new PC. Not a trivial task.

And no, I won't convert to MS WORD. I have too many long documents that don't format properly in the conversion.

Can't help you directly but can help I think.

On the old PC, install a copy of Agent Ransack.

Look in your WP config file for a string that is unusual and then have Agent Ransack search for the string.

    Thank you.
Part of my problem was looking for a .CFG file in the programs section, rather than a .WPT file in the templates section. I thought "templates" applied only to form letters, so I never looked there.
