Im having problems sending pictures with Courier email client when I have my router hooked up. Mail sends fine but if I try to send an attachment, it just stops and wont send at all. When the router is disconnected .. everything sends normally.
Is there a port forwarding addy that I need to use? The router is Netgear RP614. Im using WInXP OS.
    Thanks.

Nope. Port forwarding only affects inbound packets where you tell your router that any packets destined for a specific IP/UDP port be sent to a certain IP address. It has nothing to do with things you send out.

I'm not really sure what is going on here though - this behavior should not be happening. Do you see it with any size attachments? Do start~run~eventvwr.exe and see if your event logs are noticing the problem and if so, what details are there.

The size of the attachment has nothing to do with it. Regular emails run smooth but emails with attachments freeze and dont send and end up in the pending folder.. When I disconnect the router... attachments send perfect.
This is the message that Im getting in the event log...

IPSec Services: IPSec Services failed to get the complete list of network interfaces on the machine. This can be a potential security hazard to the machine since some of the network interfaces may not get the protection as desired by the applied IPSec filters. Please run IPSec monitor snap-in to further diagnose the problem.

IPSEC could easily be causing your problem.

    Try this:
start~run~cmd and from the command prompt net stop policyagent

If that allows you to send attachments then
Start~Control Panel~Performance and Maintenance~Administrative Tools~Services and change the startup on IPSEC to disabled.

XP home & pro have lsass.exe on autostart by default for some reason and unless you happen to be on a domain using active directory, it shouldn't be needed and doesn't help anything including your security.

I did everything you suggested .It didnt work. I dont think its a Windows issue... like I said if the router is NOT hooked up I have no problems sending attachments. Its ONLY when the router is connected. Its acting like a router issue since we are doing process of elimination. I dont get it.

Sorry - I was really hoping it was a matter of the router not handling IPSEC traffic well.

Other than suggesting you check for a firmware update for the router and install it if there is one or that you check with tech support for the device, I'm out of ideas.

There is a firmware but I refused to install it because the last time I did.. I could not view my online banking at all. As soon as I uninstalled the firmware... I was able to access my online bank acct. *sigh* Seems like Im gonna be stuck with this problem. Thanks for your help and suggestions anyway.
