I have a PC running Word 2000. The default printer for this PC is a dot matrix impact printer. While this printer is the default, Word only offers plain text fonts. How do I force Word to offer all available fonts regardless of the default printer?

This may well be a function of the printer - haven't used a dot matrix in years, but I guess it is incapable of printing True Type Fonts.

That is correct, the dot matrix printer is incapable of printing the true type fonts. However, all word documents are printed on a different printer. I want to know if Word can be adjusted to ignore the capabilities of the Default printer and offer all fonts.

I don't think this can be done - Word will always print 'by default' to the default system printer.
