    Im having problems putting in an AGP card with the above main board. I have tried all BIOS settings related to the graphics but every time it boots up off the inbuilt graphics.

    Its a::
    MATSONIC --- MS8308EP(266)
    with::
    AMD Athlon XP 1700+
    256MB SD133RAM

    How do i DISABLE the on board graphics card so that the ONLY card is the AGP one? (GeForce 2 MX (32MB))

    Ive tried modifying the following setting:
    " "Primary Grapics Adapter: OnBoard AGP/PCI" "

    That is the only setting i can see in the BIOS that suggests which card to use however it hasnt yet ever booted up on the GeForce, it always goes to onboard.

    Also, should the "CPU Plug and Play Setup" look like the following:

    CPU Brand: AMD K7
    CPU Type: Athlon XP
    CPU Speed: 1100MHz {/1700+}
    CPU Vcore: 1.504v
    CPU Freq: 100MHz {/133MHZ}
    DRAM Freq: 133MHz {/100MHz}

    The CPU Freq option for 133MHz only appears when set to 1700+. When set at "1700+" win2k to crashes frequenty. Should the speed be set to "1100Mhz" or "1700+" for an Athlon XP 1700+??

    Have you tried disabling the onboard video in the device manage {right click on it and choose disable or properties and then choose disable} or checked the motherboard for a jumper that has to be reset?

    I checked the manual for this mobo and there is no jumper for the onboard graphics. It does state that the 'PCI' graphics stay enabled even if you use the AGP slot in case you want to add another monitor. Assuming you can't change the bios setting to AGP only (it's not clear what options there are) then you will have to disable the onboard graphics as described in the previous reply.

    As for your processor the correct settings should be:
    FSB Frequency 133 MHz
    Multiplier 11.0

    The actual cpu speed is 1466MHz for the XP1700+

    Hi, ive tried disabling it via windows and in the end ive got to reset the CMOS as nothing boots up. Im going to try a BIOS update but not sure if that will work. Will work on it later on and get back to you.

    As for the processor... I cannot access multiplier settings, the ony one i can get it to run at is 1100Mhz which does seam to make it unstable but runs better than at FSB 133 or the setting called "1700+ "

    Ill maby try improving cooling but i dont think thats it as i have the same heat sink on an XP2200+(2GHz) running perfectly with no crashes. Again, ill let you know what happens.

    Many thanks for the help so far,
    Stuart.
