My dial-up modem is acting crazy. It used to cut my internet connection whenever the phone rang on an incoming call. I would like to have it back that way, now, the phone will not ring when someone calls while I am connected. I have caller ID and call waiting but I do not want to disable those options. Can some one tell he how to get my ring back.
I called Bellsouth about the problem and the said to put *95, in front of my isp connection phone number. But then when I tried to connect it would ring the phone number of a local insurance company. I have even tried to download a different driver from the conex site, nothing new. My OS is XP Home. Also the connection sounds are missing. HELP!

    Hi bama,

    Welcome to the BBS.
    Have you looked in Control Panel>Phone & Modem>Dialing Rules(tab)>(highlight the connection) Edit(button) ?

    Does this help?

Luke, good to hear you got it fixed.

I ended up looking in Start>Help & Support to find where the call waiting setting was...reminded me of when I wanted to learn about Windows and read all of the Win 95 Help program. I am new to XP...that Help (& Support) program is going to be a bit harder to digest. :D
