    Running Win XP Home Edition. I have no programs which stops "hijacking" of the home page, yet when I try to change the start page, it always goes back to the previous start page. What's up here?

    What is the page that it always go to?
    Are you clicking "use current" or "use default "?
    Do you have any program running that locks the home page?

    Downloaded and ran CWShredder it found nothing and said my system is clean.

    HiJack This shows no items checked to be fixed after scan.

    Hijack This doesn't check things for you. You have to check the things you want it to delete yourself. If you don't know which ones to check, copy and paste the log here and somebody can help you with it.

    It always goes tomy Yahoo Mail page. To the best of my knowledge I don't have the home page locked....unless there's an option somewhere in ZoneAlarm Pro that I can't find.

    To post a HijackThis log;

    Open and hit scan, then save log. Once it is saved it will open in notepad. Select all from the edit button, copy and paste the results here. Don't fix anything with it yet! Someone experienced with the logs will tell you what/how to fix.

    CWShredder is kind of specific. Download and run the links in Noahdfear's signature for Spybot and AdAware. Delete all it checks by default. Then c & P a Hijack This Log without fixing anything, like the others suggested.

    In IE, Tools, Options there is a box to change your home page. What are you setting it to, and what is is displaying after the wrong page shows up?

    Do you use Spybot? There is a feature that locks the IE toolbar settings. Perhaps you inadvertently did that? If so, easy to undo, and that should fix it.

    I found the problem. I have a program called FreeSurfer. In the settings section of the program there's a section for "Lock Home Page" which was checked. DUH to me.

    Sorry for any inconvenience I caused here and THANKS MILLIONS for ALL your HELP.
