Not sure if anyone can help me or not...
When my modem 'dials-up' from my computer, it is VERY noisy. How can I squelch this noise so I no longer hear it. Can't figure it out.
    Thanks!

    hi there,

if you go to the desktop, and right click on my computer, then click properties, the system properties window will appear. click the device manager and find 'modems' in the list, then click the little plus to the right of it. the list should drop down and your modem should now appear under modems. right click your modem and another window should appear. in this window, click the 'modem' tab. slide the slider all the way to off and click ok. close all windows and you should not hear the modem dial up anymore..

if you have any problems just say, i will be glad to help. (hope this helps)

    Liam ;)

Find the extra settings box, in Advanced modem properties via device mangler, and put in M0L0 (that's M zero L zero). Save, exit, restart.

    volume control

    Hi

if you load up the volume control and add modem/phone line, make sure it is on mute or the slider is all the way to the bottom..

    Hi fluidyne,

There are two modem property settings, one in Device Manager, the other in Control Panel > Modems > General (tab) > (highlight modem) Properties (button). Try reducing your the volume control there.

Windows seems to recognise one over the other.
