    G'day all,

I had read that Nero 6...... with the Mpg2 plugin gives by far the best results when burning Photos to CD in SVCD to play on your DVD Player connected to your TV. I have had a try with Ulead DVD Picktureshow - VCD to DVD and other programs of that nature with build in slideshow.
I now have had a try with Nero but there is no Viewer build in I can not get the Photos to show. With the programs mentioned they work all very well as slideshows but the Photos are always a little bit on the flickery side.
Can anyone give me a name or recomend some program to burn onto the CD before adding the Photos so it can then be viewed as a slideshow??
    thanks

I use the new Irfanview and if you have Nero, it's a no brainer! You just use the pause button on the DVD player to stop the slides from advancing. I don't know if the reverse works. It's real simple. No audio. But works really easy...and it's free.

Probably the best slide show maker is Pro Show Gold, http://www.photodex.com/ .

Beautiful pictures and flawless audio for CD-R, VCD or DVD slide shows.:)

Sorry Guy's, for not coming back sooner, for a while it looked as if there was no one here doing that sort of thing.
As soon as I have some time I will try it out and probably come to ask more questions.
    for now thanks a lot

As of 7 May 04, 3.91 is current, and several new options for the Slideshow feature were added in 3.90.

Open IrfanView >Click on slideshow icon, one next to folder icon > pick what photos you want > click on the burn to CD > under burning options pick data CD > put your blank CD in your burner > click start > click write CD after checking out the information at the top of the IrfanView Plugin box is set the way you want. After hitting the write button it will make the CD. Just put the CD into a DVD player that plays the type of files you burned and they will run in a slideshow on the TV.

You just make the slideshow. Give it an automatic speed. On the right is a BURN TO CD button. Just plop a blank in the drive. Hit the button and follow the instructions to make a VCD. It works great! Down and dirty!

I'm using the DATA CD to create a slideshow to view on a computer. The other computer doesn't have PowerPoint. This will work just fine!

    RayH,
I guess what works for some doesn't work for other. In my DVD player hooked up to my TV I couldn't get a slideshow burned as VCD to work that I made in IrfanView. It did work when I made it as data one.
