    hi

    ive just re-installed windows xp but cant remember how to turn off the pop-ups of the windows messager service

    could some please let me know how

    Start - Control Panel - Admin Tools - Services - scroll down until you see 'messenger' - stop the service and disable.

    Start\Control Panel\Performance and Maintenance\Administrative Tools
    Open "Services "
    Scroll down to Messenger and double click it.
    In the Properties window change Startup Type: to Disable.
    Click Apply.
