I tried it a while back. No problems, but there are free programs that do just as good a job. I use RegSeeker.

As md2lgyk suggests, RegSeeker will work just as well (probably is more powerfull), and is free. I also suggest EasyCleaner as a good compliment to RegSeeker and vice versa. Download links below.

    Thanks Guys,
    Your views appreciated.
I have a lot of regard for the author of RegVac, so I thought I would try
it. It removed about 60 k from the reg, including a lot of CLSIDs.
Reg1stAid did not find them. If they should have been removed, I do not
know yet, as I only ran it yesterday. Wait and see ...
Sorry, still do not trust Regseeker to do a correct clean.
    regards

Oh dear ! Sent Ray Guide a ton of stuff that RegVac should not touch.
Mainly CLSIDs relating to Power Desk and Norton Utilities.
Leave this one off your PC for now folks ! It's gone on mine and the reg
    is restored OK.
    regards

An earlier poster mentioned Easy Cleaner. It's OK, but the absolute best cleaner I've ever used is Cleanup! (http://cleanup.stevengould.org/). It's freeware.

    Hi md2lgyk,
    Thanks for the tip.
Steve Gould's freeware is not designed to cleanup the registry -
just flotsam left around from surfing.

Yes, but I was responding to the comment about Easy Cleaner. I didn't think it was a registry cleaner either (but it's been a while since I tried it so maybe I'm mistaken).

People need to remove garbage files a LOT more often than they need to clean their registry.
