    Hello,

I removed Windows Address Book while trying to create more space on my c drive. System restore didn't help. When I try to run Outlook I get an OLE registration error and it closes. This is after I reinstalled Outlook. Before that I think the error was missing wab.dll. If I upgrade to XP will this file be replaced? I can't find my ME cd.

    Thanks

reinstall Outlook would be the easiest way.
and its easier to buy another hard drive then to delete random files.

    Hi Hot Tuna!

Your post is a bit confusing as to which application You refer to, Outlook (comes with Office) or Outlook Express (comes with Windows).

The Address Book is related to Outlook Express, where as if You use Outlook, it defaults to its own Contacts List. You can, however, tell Outlook to use the Address Book in Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Programs.

If You are using Outlook Express and delete the Address Book, it should be recreated (empty) the next time You use Outlook Express and try to use the Address Book.

I searched my computer (XP pro) for "wab.dll" and I only came up with OUTLWAB.DLL residing in an Office folder, hence the confusion.

I have, regrettably, no information on the OLE registration error.

    Thanks for posting back!

I´d like to hear/read Microsofts explanation to that one. Fixing an error in one application by reinstalling another.

Could You post a link to the article, please!
