    I can't get the "Find (on this page) ..." to work. It won't even open. Any suggestion?

    Have you clicked on the page or window concerned to make sure it has the focus? Then hit the key combo of cntrl+F.

    ???Got a google toolbar? You could type the word your looking for into the google typein field and hit the highlight button and then click on the word or phrase listed after google highlight option. It will search the page and stop on each instance it finds.

    You lost me

    I tried the ctrl+F and don't work. You lost me when you said "to make sure it has the focus?" What is that?

    The focus is that when you press ctrl-f, you've made sure the window you want to search is the current active window. Sometimes if it isn't the search won't work. Or come up.

    Sometimes when you have multiple windows or tasks running and opened the active window or task you are working in has "The focus" or is the active window.

    The active window is the last one you worked in. If you are looking at another opened window that you have not "clicked on or in" at least once it is considered the background or nonactive window or task. You may have to click on this window to make it the window "of focus" or the current task.

    Some use xmouse to do this but [flip side] others may not. I simply thought that this may be a possibility. It most likely is not but it was worth mentioning.

    ======
    When you use the toolbar option, from within the window your working on, is the "Edit ">Find (on this page) option available or is it grayed out?

    Ok, I guess you are right.

    Ok, I guess you are right. I tried the "Find (on this page...)" on this page and it did work. I guess I was on some sites and it did not work at all. Thanks guys, you are the best.

    Thanks Welshjim for the link to the Internet Repair tool. I know that will help me and others too.

    Sharptooth--Thanks for posting back. Always good to hear of a successful end result. If you get a website where "Find (on this page)" does not work, let us know.
