java applets won't run

    I recently did something, I don't know what but I had to reinstall every hardware back, and since then I can't get the java applets to work in my browser. java script is enabled. What is missing in my files? Thanks

    It would help to know what operating system you have.

    Try going to start, then run, type in wjview and hit enter. The first line in the box that pops up should say version 5.00.3810 you do not have this version try If you do not have this version, try this site and get the updates for virtual machine.

    Platform - win98se. I have the version 5.00.3810 , what else should I try?

    Go to control panel, internet options, check the settings in the security and advanced tabs and make sure java is enabled. If you are unsure of the settings try using the default settings for medium security and most java applets should work.

    No my java has been enabled but I did go to the site you suggested and downloaded and installed Microsoft Java Virtual Machine Build and all the updates even though I had already have it and that seemed to do the trick. So thank you much for your help.
