    Hi,
I recently had a problem with the CDCopier in Roxio 5.xxx freezing up when attampting to copy audio CD's. After much trouble shooting, and feedback on the 'other software' board, I did the following:
1.) Uninstalled Roxio with Add/Remove, then also used my Cleasweep log to remove remaining files (seems to alway get files Windows does not)
2.) Went into safe-mode and uninstalled the DVD-ROM, I was using for the source- shutdown, and installed a new Sony DVD-ROM.
3.) Reinstalled Roxio with all updates.

That resovled the initial problem. However, when loading data CD's, i.e., installing a program, the DVD spins up, the hour glass activates breifly, but the splash sceens do not appear.

    Auto-insert notification is checked.

    Where do I look?

You may have disabled the auto run in TweakUI if you are using that... ( are you ?)

You should also just be able to "run" any CD that is in the tray by going into my computer and either double clicking the the CD icon to launch or right clicking the CD icon and chosing "explore "... to open... and chosing for the instance of Windows 98... the setup.exe icon and launching the application...

Have you installed any applications that inherited the autorun... capabilities from Windows... like EZCD from Adaptec...?
